The Chorus and Quartet order of appearance list was announced at Sweet Adelines today. Our chorus is contestant #6 (of 13 competing choruses).
We have 3 quartets competing with Region 17 this year (out of 16):

The chorus is getting ready for our Regional Competition this year — 8 weeks away! We’re putting the finishing touches on our choreography, music, costumes and getting ready for a great chorus retreat later this month. Our website has links posted in the sidebar for tickets and other details if you would like to see us live.
We are excited to participate in Sweet Adeline International’s Global Open House event! If you are thinking of coming, or planning to be here you will be in for a treat. Our director has picked out a new song that we will all learn together. You will discover what part to sing and learn more about barbershop singing and about our chorus. In addition, you will be treated to a mini-performance just for you. Don’t miss it!
The Chorus is offering Singing Christmas Cards again this year. To participate, copy and print our order form.

The Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus is participating in the Pittsburgh Day of Giving on October 4th, 2011. On this day, starting at midnight, you can donate to our chorus and we will receive matching funds. This deal only applies on October 4th, so please make a note in your calendar and give on that day so we can receive the matching funds.
On October 4th:
- Visit http://www.pittsburghgives.org and look for the “Day of Giving” link.
- Look for our Chorus in the drop-down list to add your donation. You will find us in the Pittsburgh list.
- There is a minimum donation of $25. Master Card and Visa are accepted. There is a small processing fee deducted from your donation.

PittsburghGives 2011 Instructions
The Chorus is now collecting ads for our 2011 show program for a limited time. The deadline for ad submissions is September 12, 2011.
We have a number of options for you to show your support: Name Ads and Booster Ads (family and friends), and Front and Back cover ads, full/half/quarter/eighth page (business card) ads (local businesses, clubs and performing groups).
Our annual show is called Singin’, Dancin’ and LAUGH-IN and will be on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Ambridge Area High School, 7:30pm with the Ambridge Area Steel Drum Band as our Special Guest.
This year a portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to Bethlehem Haven. Bethlehem Haven is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing a number of services including emergency shelter; transitional housing; permanent supportive housing; medical, dental, obstetrics and mental health services; as well as employment services to women in the Pittsburgh area.
You can send along completed forms with your artwork and payment (check made out to The Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus) to a chorus member or mail them directly to Carole Melle, 44 Linshaw Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15205 by the September 12th deadline.

There is one day left to vote for our chorus to appear with the CLO’s Marvelous Wonderettes on July 30th. See our video here. If you haven’t voted already, you have until midnight on Friday, July 22. Here are the details:

Voting will take place from today through Friday, July 22 at midnight. The winning video will be announced on Saturday, July 23 and the winning group will perform before “The Marvelous Wonderettes” on Saturday, July 30 (7:30pm).
