The chorus is getting ready for our Regional Competition this year — 8 weeks away! We’re putting the finishing touches on our choreography, music, costumes and getting ready for a great chorus retreat later this month. Our website has links posted in the sidebar for tickets and other details if you would like to see us live.
We are excited to participate in Sweet Adeline International’s Global Open House event! If you are thinking of coming, or planning to be here you will be in for a treat. Our director has picked out a new song that we will all learn together. You will discover what part to sing and learn more about barbershop singing and about our chorus. In addition, you will be treated to a mini-performance just for you. Don’t miss it!

The Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus is participating in the Pittsburgh Day of Giving on October 4th, 2011. On this day, starting at midnight, you can donate to our chorus and we will receive matching funds. This deal only applies on October 4th, so please make a note in your calendar and give on that day so we can receive the matching funds.

The Chorus is now collecting ads for our 2011 show program for a limited time. The deadline for ad submissions is September 12, 2011.
We have a number of options for you to show your support: Name Ads and Booster Ads (family and friends), and Front and Back cover ads, full/half/quarter/eighth page (business card) ads (local businesses, clubs and performing groups).
Our annual show is called Singin’, Dancin’ and LAUGH-IN and will be on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Ambridge Area High School, 7:30pm with the Ambridge Area Steel Drum Band as our Special Guest.
This year a portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to Bethlehem Haven. Bethlehem Haven is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing a number of services including emergency shelter; transitional housing; permanent supportive housing; medical, dental, obstetrics and mental health services; as well as employment services to women in the Pittsburgh area.
You can send along completed forms with your artwork and payment (check made out to The Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus) to a chorus member or mail them directly to Carole Melle, 44 Linshaw Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15205 by the September 12th deadline.

Voting will take place from today through Friday, July 22 at midnight. The winning video will be announced on Saturday, July 23 and the winning group will perform before “The Marvelous Wonderettes” on Saturday, July 30 (7:30pm).
